Structural Design Engineer

Job Description

Senior Structural Design Engineers develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. This role includes integrating and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements, leading performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate systems and components, managing supplier development and production activities, assisting with emerging technology investigations, and working under minimal direction.

• Facility Type: MRO / Aerospace Maintenance
• Job Duration: 12 Months
• Schedule: Full-time; must be able to work all shifts. First shift to start 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant structural design experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience designing primary structure, subsystems, or weapons in the Aerospace Industry.
• Demonstrated experience using Siemens NX / TeamCenter and reading 2D drawings.
• U.S. Person for Export Compliance.
• Ability to pass a background check and any required drug tests.
• Successful completion of all contingencies and required training.

• Preferred Skills
• 5+ years of structural design experience on military aircraft.

• Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design.
• Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers.
• Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Manage supplier development, test, and production activities, coordinating with the supplier to optimize design and achieve program goals.
• Assist with the investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
