Job Description
Design and analyze advanced electronic hardware solutions supporting Department of Defense programs, focusing on decomposing system-level requirements into electronic subsystems and components. Lead electronics engineering efforts, including mixed-signal circuit design, PCB layout, subsystem integration, simulation, testing, and requirements verification. This is a non-managerial, non-leadership role requiring extensive experience in complex electronic system development, requirements derivation, and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 14 or more years of related work experience, Master’s degree with 12 or more years of related work experience, or PhD with 9 or more years of related work experience. Degree must be from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or engineering technology.
- 9+ years of experience with the design, development, and integration of complex electronic systems or subsystems.
- 5+ years of experience researching, developing, or evaluating electrical, electronic, computer, software, and/or firmware requirements.
- 5+ years of experience with analog and/or digital circuit design, packaging techniques, and/or power systems.
- 3+ years of experience developing subsystem requirements.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be eligible and able to maintain a Security Clearance.
- Preferred Skills
- Proficient in Mentor Graphics (Xpedition, Capital Suite).
- Proficient in SiMetrix simulation tool for circuit analysis.
- Experience with electro-optical and IR sensors, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
- Experience with high-speed, low-latency electronic design.
- Job Duties & Functions
- Derive and document hardware requirements from system-level specifications.
- Develop and define electronic subsystems and unit-level architecture.
- Write SSOWs for board fabrication or related contractual work.
- Apply technical expertise when deriving and writing electronics-related requirements, including voltage, current, power, and signal integrity.
- Design, develop, and test mixed-signal electronic circuits and systems.
- Lead the design and implementation of PCB layouts and schematics.
- Collaborate with software and firmware engineers to ensure integration of hardware and software components.
- Participate in and conduct design reviews, including TRR, PDR, and CDR.
- Perform simulations and analyses to validate design performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development and testing phases.
- Provide mentorship and guidance for designs made by the EE team.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
