Job Description

Lead nondestructive evaluation testing and analysis of parts, materials, processes, and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include performing complex failure analysis, developing test plans, supporting audits and investigations, coordinating with suppliers and customers to resolve issues, and contributing to research, development, and continuous improvement of nondestructive evaluation processes and technologies.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate’s) and typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor’s +7 years of related work experience, 11 years of related work experience, etc.).
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in nondestructive evaluation.
    • Knowledge of computer-aided design tools and systems such as computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), CATIA, Mentor Graphics, and Unigraphics.
    • ASNT Level 2 certification in Eddy Current and Ultrasonic nondestructive evaluation testing methods.
    • Ability to travel a minimum of 10%.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Preferred Skills
    • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in nondestructive evaluation or nondestructive testing engineering in a regulated industry such as aerospace, defense, or energy.
    • Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes, including ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection.
    • ASNT Level 2 certification in multiple nondestructive evaluation processes, including ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection.
    • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and supporting technical and non-technical customers.
    • Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
    • Experience with project management tools.
    • Excellent time management skills to manage multiple simultaneous projects across various geographical locations.
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Apply nondestructive evaluation methods such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles to analyze and evaluate parts, materials, processes, technology, and equipment.
    • Lead, coordinate, and conduct complex analysis of failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.
    • Generate test plans, identify and categorize failures, determine root causes, and document results and recommendations.
    • Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the proposal, development, and validation of revisions to procedures and specifications.
    • Determine the suitability of parts, materials, and processes and coordinate the resolution of complex issues with suppliers and customers.
    • Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert.
    • Support continuous improvement of products and processes through design, development, fabrication, testing, evaluation, and implementation of new concepts and technology.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
    • Support team leadership and assist with defining strategies or providing technical consultation.
