Job Description
Perform equipment engineering activities supporting production systems, including equipment development, implementation, improvement, and lifecycle management. Support asset reliability, equipment health assessments, configuration management, and production floor troubleshooting activities for automated and complex manufacturing systems.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of experience in related engineering work or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate experience with Tool Engineering
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Support production floor activities and interact with operators, technicians, and mechanics
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting complex technical projects, evaluating equipment solutions, and assessing spare parts inventory in a production environment
- Experience working with hardware, software, and configuration management documentation
- Experience applying industry standards, hardware requirements, and safety codes
- Technical writing experience
- Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques
- Experience with automation and robotics
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to train less experienced engineers
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of skill levels and personality types
- Job Duties & Functions
- Evaluate business unit and project requirements, develop equipment concepts, and design solutions for the production system.
- Coordinate with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and procurement agents to manage equipment project schedules and budgets.
- Generate equipment specifications and verification/validation test protocols for production system assets.
- Analyze maintenance and spare parts usage records to address reliability and obsolescence issues while optimizing performance and reducing costs.
- Optimize high-precision milling, forming, and other metal processing equipment for safety, ergonomics, quality, flow, reliability, and maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements.
- Validate contractual performance milestones, maintain configuration control, conduct reviews, and prepare plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
- Develop and implement basic workarounds while maintaining hardware, software, and documentation configuration.
- Conduct equipment health assessments and support asset reliability systems.
- Manage asset lifecycle activities, asset documentation, and preventative maintenance plans.
- Support project management, testing, and commissioning activities for complex automated system projects.
- Interact with production operators, technicians, and mechanics to troubleshoot equipment issues and support the production system.
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Work 100% onsite in a production environment.
- Perform duties on the production floor while interacting with operators, technicians, and mechanics.
- Support activities involving manufacturing equipment and automated systems.
