Software Engineer

Job Description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities involving logical and mathematical solutions to business or mission problems using computer languages and data processing equipment. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software while applying appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science and typically 3-5 years of work-related experience
• Python experience
• Hardware/software integration experience
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Preferred Skills
• Experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence
• Familiarity with test equipment, including scopes, DMMs, power supplies, and DAQs
• Working knowledge of TestStand
• Experience with Automated Test Equipment design

• Job Duties & Functions
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
• Design software containing logical and mathematical solutions to business and mission problems
• Develop software in computer languages for solutions using data processing equipment
• Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
• Utilize knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to develop business and mission applications
• Analyze information processing techniques and information gathered from system users to develop software
• Correct program errors and prepare operating instructions
• Compile documentation of program development
• Resolve questions concerning program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
• Ensure software standards are met
