Software Engineer

Job Description

Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities while ensuring applicable software standards are met. Design, develop, document, test, and debug software containing logical and mathematical solutions to business and mission problems using computer languages and data processing equipment. Apply development standards, processes, procedures, and tools while analyzing system capabilities, resolving programming questions, correcting errors, and preparing operating documentation.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree and typically 6+ years of work-related experience
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Excellent communication skills
• 2+ years of experience with Oracle APEX Interactive Reports
• Demonstrated experience applying Oracle software development best practices and optimization, with 2+ years of hands-on experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Agile software methodologies and tools
• Excellent project documentation and communication skills

• Preferred Skills
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition RDBMS 19c
• Experience with PL/SQL, including developing packages, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and indexes
• Experience with JavaScript

• Plan software development activities
• Coordinate software development activities while ensuring software standards are met
• Design software containing logical and mathematical solutions to business and mission problems
• Develop software using computer languages and data processing equipment
• Document program development and prepare operating instructions
• Test software throughout the development life cycle
• Debug software and correct program errors
• Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
• Utilize knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to develop business and mission applications
• Analyze information processing techniques and information gathered from system users
• Resolve questions involving program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
• Evaluate system capabilities to resolve software development questions
