Job Description

Performs systems-level requirements definition, Guidance, Navigation, and Control system design, modeling and simulation, test data analysis, and technical documentation. The work includes developing analysis tools and mathematical techniques, conducting system and architecture analyses, supporting requirements and test development, performing root-cause analysis, and presenting technical findings in support of defense systems and related regulatory, FAA, MIL-SPEC, and NASA guidance.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology including Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 9+ years of experience in related work or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• Experience in modeling and simulation systems engineering
• Experience with modeling and simulation software development
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• 5+ years of experience in related work for Level 3
• 9+ years of experience in related work for Level 4
• Master’s degree or higher
• Experience in modeling and simulation for electro-optical systems
• Experience using industry-standard modeling and simulation software and tools such as MATLAB, Python, or Java
• Experience with Speedgoat

• Job Duties & Functions
• Gather, define, and document system-level requirements and investigate actions necessary for requirements definition and flow-down improvement
• Perform and document Guidance, Navigation, and Control system designs and guide experienced engineers in design performance
• Develop Guidance, Navigation, and Control mathematical tools and techniques and assist with Technology roadmaps
• Analyze and document test data and direct test data analysis activities
• Present compliance findings to regulatory agencies and negotiate certification basis in alignment with project goals, simulation, and design reviews using FAA, MIL-SPEC, and NASA guidance
• Train and coach other personnel
• Evaluate systems under various scenarios and architectures to determine or optimize overall system mission performance
• Develop and maintain analysis tools of varied fidelity, including modeling and simulation tools, to predict performance against evolving threats of current and future defense systems
• Develop, refine, and document key algorithm capabilities supporting Department of Defense customers
• Conduct multiple-target discrimination analyses for survivability, vulnerability, and susceptibility to determine preferred configurations for mission success
• Perform systems analyses of existing system architectures in conjunction with new technologies and concepts for consideration in future architectures
• Develop and maintain models supporting directed energy and space-based applications using industry-standard software and tools
• Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather data, validate models, and ensure simulation accuracy
• Conduct simulations to analyze system performance, identify potential issues, and propose improvements
• Generate reports and present findings to stakeholders with clear explanations of complex technical concepts
• Monitor advancements in modeling and simulation techniques for electro-optical systems and recommend process improvements
• Assist in developing methodologies and tools to enhance organizational modeling and simulation capabilities
• Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analyses to predict component and system performance and optimize designs around established requirements
• Assist in developing requirements for communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and components
• Support development and validation of electromagnetic requirements for electrical systems, electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures
• Assist architecture definition activities to integrate systems and components into higher-level systems and platforms
• Define and conduct tests to validate design performance against requirements
• Support product development throughout the lifecycle through root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support
• Support project management by providing statements of work, budgets, schedules, required inputs, and project status reports
• Support proposal writing for business development efforts

• Work onsite in Albuquerque, NM
• Work a full-time first shift schedule
• Travel domestically less than 10% of the time
