Job Description

Design, integrate, test, and validate electrical and electronic systems supporting the Central Maintenance Computing System (CMCS). Develop system architectures, hardware interfaces, and electrical designs while supporting hardware integration, verification, troubleshooting, and lifecycle sustainment for aerospace maintenance and test equipment.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree with typically 5+ years of engineering experience, Master's degree with typically 3+ years of engineering experience, PhD with related engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Demonstrate 3+ years of experience with electrical avionics system design, including electrical systems, subsystem design, interface cable design, hardware and software integration, vendor coordination, and laboratory testing
    • Possess experience or knowledge of VPX and VME form factors
    • Apply experience or knowledge of RS422, RS232, PC104, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IEEE-488, MMSI, and MIL-STD-1553 communication standards, protocols, and interfaces
    • Utilize technical system domain knowledge related to air vehicles, weapons systems, or similar platforms
    • Support product and systems development and integration activities
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Preferred Skills
    • Experience or knowledge of cybersecurity principles or cybersecurity certifications
    • Experience or knowledge of network design
    • Experience or knowledge of military hardware design and test standards, including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-1472
    • Experience with CAD software and electrical schematic creation
    • Experience implementing and maintaining systems engineering tools, schedules, and metrics, including DOORS, Cameo, and Earned Value Management
    • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
    • CompTIA Security+ certification
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Design and document electrical systems, components, connections, and interfaces
    • Develop electrical wiring required to support test articles and subassemblies
    • Analyze system schematics and electrical architectures
    • Translate system requirements into electrical hardware and software designs
    • Integrate hardware and software supporting the Central Maintenance Computing System
    • Perform system verification and validation activities
    • Establish system test requirements and interface designs
    • Select electrical hardware, including cables, connectors, shielding, and terminal blocks
    • Collaborate with laboratory personnel during equipment installation and testing
    • Resolve hardware and software issues throughout the product lifecycle
    • Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering tools, including DOORS and Cameo, to develop system architectures, perform trade studies, and support model-based design activities
    • Support vendor coordination for component selection and integration
    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
