Job Description

Support fabrication planning, assembly, and installation activities by reviewing designs, authoring manufacturing plans, coordinating fabrication, and assisting with test hardware installation. Perform manufacturing engineering functions that ensure compliance with design configuration, build plans, and process requirements while supporting laboratory and aircraft testing operations. Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and supplier teams to support structural testing programs.

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a directly related field
    • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 2+ years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering
    • 2+ years of experience working with manufacturing planning tools
    • 2+ years of experience using a design tool such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent CAD software
    • Experience with engineering design
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • 3+ years of experience specific to Manufacturing Engineering
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
    • Experience working with MESci
    • Experience with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Flight Configuration Changes (FC), or equivalent engineering change processes
    • Experience creating, reviewing, and coordinating redlines with design teams
    • Familiarity with flight test worksheets and worksheet authority
    • Knowledge of procurement systems such as eParts
    • Knowledge of electrical wire shop fabrication capabilities and processes
    • Experience supporting product testing in flight or laboratory environments
    • Proficiency with CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, and Teamcenter
    • Knowledge of machine shop fabrication capabilities including conventional machining, CNC machining, EDM, fit and finish processes, and QA inspection
    • Knowledge of rapid prototyping processes and tools
    • Familiarity with stress analysis and structural analysis
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Support fabrication planning and setup for laboratory and aircraft installation activities
    • Review design models and engineering drawings
    • Create and review redlines while coordinating design updates
    • Author manufacturing plans to support fabrication and assembly
    • Coordinate fabrication activities and provide liaison support
    • Source fabricated parts and assemblies, including work statement creation when required
    • Obtain production parts and materials to support testing activities
    • Coordinate with supplier management to support fabrication requirements
    • Provide shipside support during aircraft test hardware and instrumentation installation
    • Assist manufacturing engineering efforts across multiple company sites as required
    • Collaborate with test engineers, technicians, instrumentation engineers, program engineers, customers, fabrication personnel, and design teams
    • Develop integrated build plans including work instructions, tooling, kitting, and inspection requirements
    • Perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis
    • Ensure compliance with design configuration, manufacturing plans, and process requirements
    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
    • Complete required on-the-job or formal classroom training
