Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements manufacturing processes and procedures for assemblies and equipment installation within an aerospace production environment. The role supports process optimization, digital manufacturing, statistical process control, data analytics, tooling efficiency, and operational excellence initiatives while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, quality, planning, and production teams.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • 5 years of air vehicle systems experience required, including hydraulics, fuel, electrical, propulsion, avionics, flight test, ground test, environmental control systems, etc.
    • 3 years of recent CATIA V5 experience
    • 3 years of recent Teamcenter experience
    • Aviation experience required
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 8-10 years of work-related experience
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross-functionally with other disciplines, including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance, and/or production planning
    • Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures, including assembly, machining, and electrical in several disciplines, including metallics, machining, electrical harness fabrication and routing, systems installations, and/or final assembly operations
    • Previous experience developing visual work instructions for use in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience with Teamcenter and CATIA
    • Manager is looking for resources with experience specifically in vehicle systems, not structures, and not composites
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Perform in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for assemblies and equipment installation
    • Drive adoption of new technologies and processes, including automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing software, to achieve efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement
    • Create and analyze 3D-based model data environments to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions
    • Leverage understanding of materials and automated processes to define operational procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence
    • Evaluate the performance of equipment and tools, including IoT devices, to verify efficiency and investigate corrective actions for operational deficiencies
    • Leverage factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrate reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement
    • Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
