Software Engineer

Job Description

The Software Engineer will develop software according to established requirements, support system testing and performance analyses, and develop and deliver software-related artifacts to the customer. This position supports shipboard control system capabilities within the Machinery Controls & Automation Products department, ensuring software standards are met while contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient shipboard operations

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science and typically 9-15 years of work-related experience
• 6+ years of experience with C++ at an advanced level, Java, JavaScript at an advanced level, and Python
• Hands-on experience developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining software using C++, Python, Java, and JavaScript
• Experience with software requirements, architecture, detailed design, implementation, integration, verification, and maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Experience performing unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and software verification
• Experience using version-control tools such as Git and working within established software configuration-management processes
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
