Systems Engineer

Job Description

The Systems Engineer will support Controls & Automation Products by performing system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for shipboard control systems. This position involves translating customer and product requirements into complete system solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints in an accelerated team environment

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science and typically 9-15 years of work-related experience
• Proficient in DOORS
• Experience with requirements development, understanding of system architecture, integration, and verification
• Hands-on experience being able to interpret schematics, ICDs, and engineering documentation
• Ability to produce engineering documentation based on system design and customer specifications
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Preferred Skills
• Experience with Cameo (Tool) – 2-4 years
• Local candidates to the Mount Laurel, NJ Tech Campus are preferred due to occasional lab visits

• Job Duties & Functions
• Perform system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Perform analyses at all levels of total system products, including concept, requirements design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
• Work effectively in an accelerated team environment with remotely located team members
• Develop a deep understanding of the product
