Aeronautical Engineer

Job Description

Will perform structural durability, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis using fracture mechanics to assess aircraft structural integrity and service life. Responsibilities include airframe stress analysis, crack growth assessment, structural sizing, strength evaluations, and developing maintenance plans and force management data to support safe aircraft operation.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelors degree in an engineering technical discipline
• 5+ years of Material Review Board (MRB) process experience, stress analysis, fatigue and durability analysis, and crack growth or damage tolerance analysis
• 5+ years of airframe structural stress and/or fatigue analysis experience
• Experience with Navy and Air Force Service Life Analysis criteria, engineering drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes
• 5+ years of experience and knowledge in airframe drawings, structural load paths, aircraft structural behavior, fracture mechanics methods, and aircraft maintenance requirements
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Job Duties & Functions
• Perform Durability and Damage Tolerance (DaDT) and fatigue analysis, detail-part sizing, and strength assessments of aircraft primary and secondary structures and systems
• Use crack initiation and crack growth analysis tools for design sizing, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, drawing reviews, and analysis report preparation
• Develop force management source data to manage airframes and support safe operation
• Develop and implement Force Structural Maintenance Plans (FSMPs) and Individual Aircraft Tracking (IAT) to support force management activities
