Software Engineer

Job Description

Perform software quality assurance throughout the development process for custom applications serving internal and external partners. Develop test strategies and automated testing tools, execute tests, validate user story acceptance criteria, and document findings. Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to resolve defects and improve test processes and product quality.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 6-10 years of work-related experience
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Job Duties & Functions
• Define test automation frameworks, test plans, and test cases aligned with program requirements and industry standards
• Execute functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing
• Document defects, track root cause analysis, verify fixes, and generate clear test reports and metrics
• Develop and maintain automated testing tools, frameworks, test suites, and CI/CD pipelines
• Evaluate, configure, and support test tools
• Write precise user story acceptance criteria and validate that delivered software meets those criteria before sign-off
• Produce thorough, traceable documentation of test cases, execution results, and defect investigations
• Diagnose software failures across platforms, reproduce issues in test environments, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects
• Apply continuous improvement methodology to refine test processes, tooling, and overall product quality
• Identify gaps in test coverage and process inefficiencies, and propose enhancements
• Mentor junior QA staff and assist with onboarding
• Partner with developers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, mission planners, and stakeholders to deliver reliable custom applications for internal and external partners
• Participate in design reviews, sprint ceremonies, and risk assessments
• Provide early-stage quality assurance input
• Communicate test findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders
