Job Description

Responsible for the inspection, repair, fabrication, and maintenance of composite components used in aircraft structures. Work involves assessing damage, performing precision composite repairs, fabricating and assembling parts, and applying established techniques and procedures to support aircraft safety and reliability.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • 10+ years of recent composite experience in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment
    • Proficiency with close-tolerance measuring tools, including scales, micrometers, calipers, and depth gages
    • Experience using hand tools such as drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, and fastener installation tools
    • Ability to perform alignment and assembly using jigs, templates, and fixtures
    • PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
    • Extensive experience with bagging materials
    • Capability to properly bag a wide range of component shapes and styles
    • Proficiency operating a “Hot-Bonder” type machine cure procedure
    • Able to read basic blueprints
    • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language
    • Must have own tools
    • No known allergy to epoxy agents and ability to become certified to wear a respirator
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Fabricate and assemble composite parts in accordance with current technical data and procedures
    • Prepare tools, perform lamination, operate vacuum bagging systems, conduct oven operations, and complete finishing
    • Rout, drill, trim, and sand composite parts according to drawing dimensions and tolerances
    • Handle and store materials appropriately according to product specifications
    • Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
    • Maintain a clean job site
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday
    • Frequently lift and move items weighing over 50 lbs.
