Job Description

Maintaining, repairing, modifying, fabricating, and installing parts, items, and assemblies of structural components using current technical data, including blueprints and manufacturer drawings and manuals. Work includes aircraft structural assembly and repair, sheet metal fabrication, fastener installation and removal, precision measurement, and blueprint-specified machining and assembly operations.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • 10+ years of recent experience in assembly in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment
    • Proficiency in reading basic blueprints
    • Able to read, write, and understand the English language
    • Must have own tools
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Maintain, repair, modify, fabricate, and install parts, items, and assemblies of structural components using current technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer drawings and manuals
    • Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft repair
    • Perform repairs involving varying sheet metal types and thicknesses
    • Remove and replace various fastener types, including solid rivets, blind rivets, and HI-Loc fasteners
    • Read and follow work instructions and properly document completed work using process planning, adhesive log sheets, Material Review Board/Engineering Work Orders (MRB/EWOs), Process Specifications, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Manuals, and other applicable documents
    • Use close-tolerance measuring tools, including scales, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges
    • Complete alignment and assembly using jigs, templates, and fixtures
    • Perform trimming, burring, countersinking, riveting, drilling, and reaming to blueprint-specified tolerances
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time
    • Lift 50 lbs. or more
