Job Description

Fabricates tooling, repairs materials and fixtures, generates corresponding drawings, and operates vertical mills, lathes, and CNC equipment within an MRO Services environment. Precision measuring tools are used to support accurate machining, while approved technical data, Federal Aviation Regulations, Repair Station policies, and quality procedures govern maintenance activities. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • 10+ years of experience in a machine shop or Part 145 Repair Station
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Proficiency in reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments
    • Experience with either CNC or manual machining
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • Technical degree
    • Experience with Vertical Mill, Lathe, and CNC Mill
    • Welding and metal fabrication experience
    • Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Fabricate tooling, repair materials and fixtures, and generate corresponding drawings
    • Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines
    • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
    • Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
    • Select the appropriate machine and settings for a given task
    • Plan the proper sequence of tasks to complete an assigned task
    • Monitor production and adjust feed and other settings as necessary
    • Identify the need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs
    • Ensure all work is completed safely and professionally in accordance with approved or acceptable technical data and work practices
    • Comply with current Federal Aviation Regulations and Repair Station and Quality Control Manual policies and procedures
    • Complete necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders used by the Repair Station
    • Maintain work area cleanliness and good housekeeping to promote safe operations
    • Verify that proper tooling and equipment are utilized, calibrated, and in good working order for the maintenance task
    • Confirm that repair and overhaul of articles and components remains within the authority of the Repair Station and that completed work is inspected by the inspection department
    • Handle and tag parts properly throughout the repair process and through work completion
    • Perform incoming inspection of parts, supplies, and articles to determine airworthiness before use in a repair or modification
    • Prevent defective, non-conforming, or un-airworthy parts from being installed in components or assemblies
    • Understand and implement applicable regulations and guidelines
    • Coordinate activities across departments
    • Work with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a professional manner
    • Maintain focus on detail, quality, and safety while accomplishing tasks with minimal supervision
    • Travel to locations as required to perform repairs
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Lift up to 70 lbs.
    • Perform routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting
    • Complete routine or repetitive physical motions with the arms and hands
    • Work on elevated platforms up to 40 ft. in the air using fall protection safety gear
    • Stand or sit for long periods while performing repairs
    • Travel to locations in all weather conditions as required to perform repairs
