Job Description

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle while meeting industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards. Software activities include translating customer requirements into designs, developing and maintaining architectures and interfaces, resolving technical issues, implementing technologies and tools, and supporting software research and development. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical degree
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer developing with Ada, C++, C, or C

• Proficiency in Ada
• Skilled in C

• Experience developing with C/C++
• Candidates must be able to relocate to the Oklahoma City, OK area if not already living locally
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Experience developing weapons software, including MIL-STD-1760 or UAI
• Embedded real-time software and hardware development experience
• Working knowledge of Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Agile software development experience
• Proficiency with modern software development tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, and Git
• Experience developing models and simulations
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels

• Job Duties & Functions
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Design non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle to meet industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards
• Review customer requirements and translate them into initial software product designs
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for systems integrations
• Document software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
• Debug and resolve software issues to ensure product reliability and efficiency
• Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback
• Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development
• Establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics aligned with organizational goals and industry benchmarks
• Execute and document software research and development projects
• Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
• Perform software project management activities and software supplier management functions
• Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance with project plans and industry standards
• Support software development on agile teams integrating and implementing solutions onto a platform
• Develop high-fidelity simulation and environment software and tool sets to enable rapid development, testing, and deployment of software solutions
• Apply analytical problem-solving skills to resolve problems for the company and suppliers
• Use engineering skills to deliver improved capabilities to warfighters and maintainers
• Improve processes and tools through application of engineering knowledge
• Conduct analysis using engineering principles
• Complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process; failure to complete the assessment will remove the candidate from consideration
