Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Develop production planning and work instructions using model-based engineering tools to support aircraft build activities. Coordinate with shop floor personnel and cross-functional organizations to resolve build issues, implement process improvements, and support planning system changes. Oversee build documentation and planning modifications associated with engineering revisions and MRB activities.

• $22.00 - $80.00 Hourly

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or Production Engineering
• 5+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
• 5+ years of experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
• 5+ years of experience with model-based engineering software, CATIA, 3DX, and Teamcenter NX
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Manufacturing Engineering and Production Planning experience with Solumina or Apriso
• Experience utilizing SAP/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
• Production and build execution support experience, especially on second/swing shift
• Experience working directly with shop floor mechanics and/or represented workforce
• Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Production Control, and Supply Chain
• Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action

• Job Duties & Functions
• Leverage model-based engineering tools, including PLM and MES, to facilitate creation of production planning and work instructions for build
• Interface with shop floor personnel to help resolve build issues
• Troubleshoot PLM, MES, and ERP data flows
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency
• Provide guidance to a team of hourly/represented planners
• Oversee creation and release of build documentation
• Guide planning modifications related to engineering revisions and MRB activities
• Support Manufacturing Engineering planning system upgrades, modifications, and new system integration
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality engineering, supply chain organizations, and production operations
