Material Handler

Job Description

Performs material-handling activities within or near the plant, yard, or work site under specific direction. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, processing shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory, replenishing designated Bench Stock Locations, and conveying materials using carts, hand trucks, or other devices.

• 5/40-1st Shift, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday-Friday
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Education & Job Requirements
• 2 - 4 years of experience with Oral and Written Communication Skills
• 2 - 4 years of experience with Microsoft Suite
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Valid driver's license
• Current proof of vehicle insurance and registration

• Job Duties & Functions
• Load, unload, and convey materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site
• Perform shipping and receiving activities as directed
• Open containers using hand tools
• Count and weigh materials and record information
• Transfer materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand
• Sort and place material into designated Bench Stock Locations (BSL)
• Conduct inventory activities using a Windows tablet
• Convey materials using carts, hand trucks, or other devices
• Stack or assemble materials
• Order material for bin replenishment using a handheld tablet and scanner

• Physical Requirements & Environment
• Perform labor-intensive work while remaining on your feet for the majority of the shift
• Wear required PPE while working in the work area
• Use steel toe footwear
• Drive a personal vehicle onto Robins Air Force Base with valid driver's license, current proof of insurance, and vehicle registration
