Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer

Job Description

Analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products. Develops high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications, then validates designs through review, testing, and analysis. Provides engineering support throughout the product lifecycle while investigating emerging technologies and supporting concepts for future product designs.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
• 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• 2+ years of experience with FPGA design
• Strong experience with AMD Vivado
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Advanced FPGA implementation skills in synthesis, timing closure, and constraints
• Experience with FPGA and Xilinx
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• 5+ years of experience with FPGA and/or ASIC design
• Strong experience with Xilinx/AMD Vivado
• Experience with Versal family devices
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog HDL
• Advanced FPGA implementation skills in synthesis, timing closure, and constraints

• Job Duties & Functions
• Analyze customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
• Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
• Validate designs through reviews, testing, and analysis
• Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
• Support Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope
• Provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
• Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
• Create and add new functional blocks and interfaces to FPGA top-level designs
• Integrate third-party and in-house IP cores
• Update constraint files
• Perform synthesis, simulation, and Place & Route processes to ensure timing closure and design integrity
• Program FPGA devices, primarily from the Xilinx Versal, Ultrascale, and Ultrascale+ families
• Troubleshoot static timing violations
• Code complex designs in HDL rather than simply instantiating IP blocks
• Collaborate closely with the system engineering team to support hardware and software system integration and testing activities
