Job Description

Perform assembly, disassembly, modification, repair, troubleshooting, testing, and inspection of aerospace vehicle components and systems to correct failures and support product serviceability. Execute maintenance and modification activities on V-22 aircraft while applying established aerospace maintenance practices, product specifications, fault isolation procedures, and regulatory requirements.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Aircraft Maintenance
    • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education such as a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 4+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as vocational school, Associate degree plus 2+ years of related work experience, or Bachelor’s degree
    • Knowledge of V-22 aircraft maintenance, modification, and repair
    • Skill and experience in either Electrical and Avionics or Airframes system subject areas
    • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environmental processes, including FOD control, tool control, health, and safety
    • Ability to travel 30%
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • Valid A&P License
    • Quality Assurance experience
    • Extensive Depot-level modification experience
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Assemble, disassemble, and repair aerospace assemblies by changing, removing, and replacing components using general aerospace maintenance practices and product specifications
    • Remove and replace components for repair, replacement, or testing to support product serviceability
    • Resolve routine problems during operation, maintenance, and overhaul of deliverable products
    • Coordinate assembly, disassembly, and overhaul functions to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and thoroughness
    • Perform routine and complex functional and diagnostic tests using monitoring instruments and bench or automated test equipment to isolate root causes of failures
    • Conduct validation and verification testing of systems and components to ensure serviceability
    • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using established fault isolation procedures
    • Repair components with limited or no engineering or coworker assistance
    • Consult engineering and customers regarding repair findings and test results when needed
    • Document repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results using established processes and procedures
    • Verify detailed instructions and procedures used to modify, repair, and test assemblies
    • Assist engineering with rectifying discrepancies identified by technicians
    • Identify discrepancies found with parts and assist with reconciliation activities
    • Inspect components before installation or use to verify cleanliness and serviceability
    • Document discrepancies identified during inspections
    • Perform modifications to satisfy deliverable product requirements
    • Verify the adequacy, accuracy, and thoroughness of product modifications
    • Collaborate effectively with other personnel
    • Travel to domestic locations, including military bases in the continental United States and Hawaii, as required to meet customer needs and statement-of-work requirements
    • Support training activities as directed
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Ability to perform physical activities including flexion and extension of the head and neck, handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, overhead reaching, rotation of the head and neck, standing, twisting at the waist, and walking
    • Ability to climb and balance on stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, and inclined surfaces
    • Ability to crawl and crouch or squat
    • Ability to carry and lift up to 30 pounds
