Job Description
Support quality engineering activities for optical components manufacturing, with emphasis on inspection, testing, process assessment, and product acceptance. Develop and analyze quality processes, evaluate test results, support technical investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate with manufacturing, program personnel, and customers on quality-related issues while ensuring compliance with applicable technical specifications and ISO-9001 / AS9100 standards.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline with 2+ years of professional experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree, or equivalent combined experience/education
- 2+ years of experience with GD&T
- SAP experience of at least 2 years
- APRISO experience of at least 2 years
- Root Cause Analysis experience of at least 2 years, including Cause Mapping, 5-Why, or Fishbone methods
- Presentation experience of at least 2 years
- 2+ years of experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
- AS9102 interpretation and application experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- First Article Inspection experience
- Optics experience
- Job Duties & Functions
- Develop and review quality standards, methods, work instructions, and procedures for inspection and testing of manufactured and procured products
- Design and analyze inspection and test processes, mechanisms, and equipment
- Evaluate product test results and perform statistical analysis to assess risks associated with products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
- Review documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer
- Lead and participate in Failure Review Boards and other technical investigations
- Participate as an active member of Material Review Boards
- Develop and implement new inspection processes and automation methods
- Ensure effective corrective and preventive actions to improve processes
- Conduct special process assessments and audit procedures for compliance with technical specifications and ISO-9001 / AS9100 industry standards
- Interface with customers and program personnel regarding quality-related issues
- Make final decisions regarding product acceptability
