SIL Engineering Technician

Job Description

Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings while performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment.

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Job Duties & Functions
• Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings
• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment
• Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards
• Solder to the J-STD
• Read and understand aircraft-level wiring diagrams
• Interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams for metal fabrication and assemblies
• Use test equipment for troubleshooting and repair of wiring and isolation
• Work with serial data interfaces including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, and IEEE-488
• Install fiber-optic cabling for reflective memory hardware
• Use hand tools and powered and unpowered shop equipment, including hand drills, wire crimpers, wire strippers, and soldering tools, in a safe manner
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Work in a team environment

• Lift up to 75 pounds
• Work in confined areas for extended periods of time
• Apply ESD and FOD practices
