Job Description
Perform computational analysis and pre-dimensioning calculations in specialized structural mechanics fields, including strength of metallic and composite structures, finite element analysis, fatigue, and damage tolerance. Apply analytical or digital computation methods, evaluate the credibility of data and analysis results, contribute to measurement plans applicable to testing, and analyze test results. Utilize NASTRAN/Patran and other applicable FEA and pre/post-processing tools while interpreting detail, assembly, and installation type drawings.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 9 - 15 years of experience or Master’s degree with 7 - 13 years of experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Proficiency working with 3D models
- Demonstrated expertise in structures
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
- Experience with Nastran
- Working knowledge of Patran
- Required experience with structural mechanics simulation software NASTRAN/Patran
- Experience using computational methods and tools for strength of metallic and composite structures, finite element analysis, fatigue, and damage tolerance
- Ability to perform pre-dimensioning computations using analytical or digital computation methods
- Capability to evaluate the credibility of data received and results obtained
- Experience drawing up measurement plans applicable to tests
- Proficiency analyzing test results
- Familiarity and experience with other FEA tools such as FEMAP
- Knowledge of other pre/post processor software
- Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-5
- Capability to interpret detail, assembly, and installation type drawings
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge and experience with Computer Aided Design software tools such as CATIA V5/3DX

- Perform computational methods and analysis in specialized structural mechanics fields.

- Conduct pre-dimensioning computations using analytical or digital computation methods.
- Evaluate the credibility of computational data received and the results obtained.
- Contribute to drawing up measurement plans applicable to tests.
- Analyze results obtained from testing activities.
- Utilize NASTRAN/Patran for structural mechanics simulation.
- Apply FEA and pre/post-processing software to support structural analysis activities.
- Interpret detail, assembly, and installation type drawings.
- Review 3D models and engineering information in support of structural analysis.
- Support analysis activities involving fatigue and damage tolerance.
