Job Description
Lead tooling activities for the THAAD Program, supporting design, procurement, internal manufacturing builds, proposals, maintenance, supplier activities, production floor visits, and development of tooling processes. Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts, and Program Management to support program production and development activities.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field
- 5+ years of experience with MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- 5+ years of experience with Pro-E/Creo/Windchill or other CAD systems
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5
- 5+ years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing, and presentations
- Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
- Ability to travel domestically
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- International travel capability
- Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with LM tooling
- Knowledge of LM manufacturing and processes
- Familiarity with the LM drawing release process
- Experience with the LM Model Computer-Aided Design (MCAD) process
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing
- Work with SAP
- Experience with LM Property Management
- Apply design for manufacturing principles
- Experience in machining, welding, and castings
- Demonstrate the ability to evaluate design activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality
- Analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
- Demonstrate mechanical design, analysis, and test experience
- Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality, and/or safety
- Job Duties & Functions
- Lead tooling activities supporting program production and development.
- Support tooling design, procurement, internal manufacturing builds, proposals, and maintenance.
- Coordinate supplier and production floor visits related to tooling activities.
- Define and lead the path forward for the new tooling group.
- Communicate and collaborate with personnel across the United States, including Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts, and Program Management.
- Support other program-related tooling activities as required.
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Worker will telework less than 50% of the time.
- Work a minimum of 3 days onsite with the option to work 1 day from home.
