Job Description

Design, implement, and verify guidance, navigation, and control algorithms while developing high-fidelity simulations, flight software, and analysis tools for spacecraft, re-entry vehicles, and hypersonic or airborne platforms. Support system integration, testing, mission design, trajectory optimization, operational troubleshooting, and flight-test activities.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology including Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a directly related non-U.S. equivalent qualification
• 5+ years of related work experience
• Engineering experience with aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, autonomous platforms, or similar vehicles
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink
• Proficiency developing GN&C algorithms, models, and simulations
• Experience developing with C/C++, Python, or C

• Boeing data systems, algorithms, simulation and modeling, MATLAB/Simulink, and C/C++
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Degree in aerospace or aeronautical engineering at the BS, MS, or PhD level
• 10+ years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Spacecraft operations, space environment effects, or hypersonic re-entry GN&C
• State estimation and sensor fusion, such as Kalman filters, GPS/INS, or air data systems
• Classical and modern control theory and nonlinear control design
• Model-based development and flight-test support
• Prior work on space or hypersonic programs
• Ability to work effectively in broad, minimally defined design spaces and communicate technical results clearly

• Job Duties & Functions
• Designs, implements, and verifies guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for spacecraft, re-entry vehicles, and hypersonic or airborne platforms
• Develops and maintains 6 DOF dynamics simulations and associated analysis tools for mission and performance assessment
• Implements and validates GN&C flight software using MATLAB/Simulink models and C/C++ prototypes and integrates these with testbeds and avionics
• Applies astrodynamics and flight mechanics to mission design, novel orbit concepts, and trajectory optimization
• Applies aerodynamics, atmospheric flight mechanics, and controls knowledge to support re-entry guidance, navigation, and flight control functions
• Develops powered and unpowered guidance laws and autonomy tools for on-orbit and atmospheric operations
• Supports troubleshooting of operational anomalies, functional tests, and service incidents
• Produces concepts of operations, simulation artifacts, and test procedures to enable rapid iteration from prototype to flight test
• Collaborates with systems engineering, avionics, test, and business development teams and communicates technical tradeoffs to stakeholders
• Identifies inefficiencies, proposes solutions, and implements reusable tools and automations
