Job Description

Design and develop digital signal processing algorithms and satellite communication systems while supporting system design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing. Contribute to project activities spanning concept studies, system definition, satellite unit development, payload integration, and in-orbit operations.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology including Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
• 3+ years of experience with MATLAB or Simulink
• 5+ years of experience in core digital communications and signal processing theory
• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, including requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design, and trade studies
• 1+ years of experience working with FPGAs or ASICs
• Digital signal processing and digital communications algorithms and techniques, including equalization, turbo/Viterbi coding and decoding, channel estimation, filter design, and resampling theory
• Systems Engineering & Analysis, DSP Principles, FPGA, ASIC, and MATLAB/Simulink
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and spectrum analyzers
• Leadership of engineering teams
• 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

• Job Duties & Functions
• Designs and develops next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
• Develops and verifies multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms
• Conducts performance analysis of signal processing models
• Performs waveform development and characterization
• Conducts trade studies
• Supports integration and testing of payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
• Supports HDL-level design and verification
• Executes detailed system design and verification activities
• Leads teams
• Leads IR&D activities
