Electronics Engineering Technician

Job Description

Support electronic development laboratory activities by fabricating cables and harnesses, assembling test stations and aircraft assemblies, troubleshooting laboratory equipment, and modifying SMT circuit boards according to engineering and manufacturing documentation.

• Education & Job Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in a technical industry
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards
• Solder to the J-STD
• Read and understand aircraft-level wiring diagrams
• Interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams for metal fabrication and assemblies
• Use test equipment for troubleshooting, repair, and isolation of wiring
• Wire serial data interfaces including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, and IEEE-488
• Install fiberoptic cabling for reflective memory hardware
• Properly and safely use powered and unpowered hand tools and shop equipment
• Apply ESD procedures and FOD practices
• Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
• Work effectively with others as a team member

• Preferred Skills
• J-STD certification
• Military experience in related aircraft or systems maintenance and support

• Job Duties & Functions
• Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings
• Read manufacturing drawings to assemble test stations or aircraft assemblies (Black Boxes)
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment
• Work with SMT equipment and modify SMT circuit boards

• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Work in confined areas for extended periods of time
