Systems Engineer 5

Job Description

Develop and verify ground system solutions across multiple phases of system development, including analysis of system and subsystem requirements, interface design, ground systems architecture and design, software system integration, software system test, system verification, and demonstrations. Support ground system verification and test activities while developing, executing, and documenting test plans, procedures, and reports for systems ranging from individual components to larger functional systems. Work within an agile environment while applying systems engineering processes to support customer requirements and ground system development.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 14+ years of experience in related work or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• Experience with verification and testing of ground software Command and Control (C2) systems
• Experience with Control Systems
• Experience with Systems Engineering & Analysis
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Experience writing requirements and ICDs for ground systems
• Experience developing, generating, and executing system test plans, procedures, and reports
• Experience working with systems engineers using a scaled agile development process
• 3+ years of experience with system requirements generation, verification, and system integration and test (I&T)
• Strong communication, adaptability, decision-making, customer focus, integrated systems, engineering analysis, and requirements/tracing skillsets

• Job Duties & Functions
• Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system-of-systems and system solutions
• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces
• Perform analyses to optimize total system-of-systems and software system architecture
• Analyze affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialty quality factors to establish a preferred configuration supporting mission success
• Support planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes
