Material Handler

Job Description

Load, unload, convey, stack, and assemble materials within an offsite warehouse while supporting shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material movement activities using manual and powered material-handling equipment.

• Education & Job Requirements
• 1 - 2 years of experience following up on assigned activities, creating and maintaining multiple agendas, and inventory management
• 1 - 2 years of experience demonstrating attention to detail, working as a team player, and with MS Excel at an intermediate level
• 1 - 2 years of experience operating a warehouse forklift
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• 1 - 2 years of experience with physical verification and inventory control

• Job Duties & Functions
• Load, unload, and convey materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site
• Perform shipping and receiving activities as directed
• Open containers using hand tools
• Count and weigh materials and record information
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand
• Transfer materials into or from trucks by hand
• Transport materials using a wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices
• Stack or assemble materials
• Assist machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or using a power hoist
• Enter information into different databases for inventory management

• Physical Requirements & Environment
• Lift heavy objects by hand or use a power hoist as required
• Work onsite full time at the offsite warehouse in Bridgeport, NJ
