Technical Designer 3

Job Description

Support the development, integration, and documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design. Develop, maintain, and modify interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methods while supporting development processes, production operations, suppliers, engineering groups, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

• Education & Job Requirements
• 3+ years of experience in a technical field
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Associate's degree and 3+ years of work-related experience
• 2+ years of experience in technical design, including modeling and technical integration, or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience
• 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Background in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, and release
• Familiarity with CATIA
• Exposure to production or manufacturing systems
• Background in part or product design or integration
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing
• Hands-on work supporting validation of compliance with regulatory requirements
• Technical requirements or technical writing experience
• Working knowledge of Visual Basic, Python, or Java
• Exposure to model-based design and systems engineering
• Understanding of relational design

• Job Duties & Functions
• Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design
• Support the development of new design and analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort
• Develop interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methods
• Maintain interior payload system and component designs throughout the product lifecycle
• Modify interior payload system and component designs to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers

• Physical Requirements & Environment
• Work 100% onsite in Everett, WA
• Successful completion of OJT or formal classroom training is a contingency for the assignment
