Job Description
Perform NC programming, setup documentation, and machining strategy development for complex multi-axis parts used in aerospace structural production. Develop, verify, revise, and troubleshoot CNC programs while coordinating with planning, engineering, tooling, and shop-floor personnel to support producibility, quality, and machining requirements.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate) and typically 6 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of experience with NC programming for production machining or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of experience programming 5-axis CNC machines for aerospace parts, including aluminum and hard metals
- Proficient in CATIA V5 NC programming
- Proficient with NC simulation and verification tools such as Vericut
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation
- Create clear setup documentation and operator instructions
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- Custom fixture and tooling development for multi-setup machining operations
- Machining strategy development and selection of appropriate machines and processes for part families
- Aerospace manufacturing processes, inspection practices, and first-article requirements
- Problem-solving focused on reducing cycle times or improving producibility
- Cross-functional communication with planning, engineering, and shop-floor teams
- Additional CAM systems or post-processors commonly used in aerospace environments
- Job Duties & Functions
- Create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), tooling geometry, and setup documentation for multi-axis CNC machines, primarily 5-axis
- Interpret engineering drawings, planning documentation, and manufacturing requirements to develop NC programs for aluminum and hard-metal parts
- Develop multiple setups and operations for complex part geometries while ensuring fixturing, tooling, machine selection, producibility, and tolerances are appropriately addressed
- Produce setup sheets and operator instructions that support consistent and safe machine operation
- Utilize simulation and verification tools such as Vericut to validate programs and eliminate collisions or gouges before shop-floor execution
- Troubleshoot and revise programs based on first-article inspections, in-process feedback, and shop-floor testing
- Coordinate with planning, manufacturing engineering, tooling design, and machine operators to optimize cycle times, reduce scrap, and address manufacturability concerns
- Lead custom fixture and complex tooling arrangement design for Level 4 requirements
- Define machining strategies across multiple operations and machines
- Maintain program documentation, revisions, and configuration control according to company and contract requirements
- Work under minimal direction
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Support overtime as required by business needs

- Work 100% onsite in Everett, WA
- Additional onsite work location available in Renton, WA
