Job Description
Design and develop RF and digital satellite communication systems while developing and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures. Support communication digital payload development through requirements allocation and verification, performance and link budgets, subsystem trade studies, prototype demonstrations, integration simulations, and ASIC or FPGA system design and verification.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of work-related experience
- 6+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing
- 10+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- Master's degree in signal processing or algorithm development
- Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
- Digital Signal Processing-based classes, projects, or work experience
- Simulink experience in work or school; Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
- Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
- Verification planning and principles applied to resolving real-world problems
- Job Duties & Functions
- Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
- Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures
- Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads
- Develop performance and link budgets
- Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models
- Execute payload subsystem trade studies to improve performance, cost, and/or schedule
- Develop prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds
- Plan unit-level integration and performance simulations
- Support ASIC and FPGA-level system design and verification
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs
