Job Description

Perform complex production assembly operations involving structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools. Fabricate and terminate wiring harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems while following assembly procedures and maintaining high-quality, repetitive production standards. Support project completion through coordination with team leaders, communication regarding production problems, and cross-training of new hires.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • 4+ years of experience as a technician in aerospace or an equivalent high-reliability field
    • Certification to J-STD-001 space and NASA.STD.8739.4
    • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
    • Experience using hand tools, repairing, and troubleshooting electronic components
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Ability to read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists
    • Applicants must pass a soldering and crimping test
    • Experience working in a clean room
    • Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications for work documentation
    • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness and prevention, and safety at all times
    • Experience with Computer Operations
    • Technician knowledge
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Preferred Skills
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
    • Experience with MS Office software
    • Demonstrated ability to perform in-process verification of work (2PV)
    • 4+ years of knowledge of various wire harness tools, including manual and pneumatic crimpers
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Fabricate harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems
    • Build and terminate wiring harnesses for racks and boxes while maintaining high-quality and repetitive production standards
    • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to co-workers
    • Work under the direction of the team leader to complete projects
    • Confer with supervisors regarding anticipated production problems
    • Cross-train and mentor new hires
    • Perform other assigned duties
