Job Description
Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of subassemblies and racks, including power distribution load boxes, control and communication panels, joysticks, wiring harnesses, connectors, power distribution boards, and related mechanical assemblies. Read blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials while routing, stripping, dressing, and crimping wires, installing components, conducting workmanship inspections, and documenting results in the MRP system.

- Education & Job Requirements
- 1 - 2 years of experience with IPC-A-610
- 2 - 4 years of experience with IPC-J-STD
- 4 - 6 years of experience with General Assembly
- 2 - 4 years of experience with Mechanical Assembly
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Perform mechanical joining using threaded fasteners, rivets, adhesives, and torque-controlled tightening
- Install LEDs, push buttons, switches, handles, fasteners, wiring harnesses, connectors, power distribution boards, and SSR modules
- Route cables according to EMC guidelines
- Conduct functional and workmanship inspections
- Document inspection and work results in work orders within the MRP system
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, teamwork, clear communication, safety compliance, and a proactive approach to learning and process improvement
- Preferred Skills
- 1 - 2 years of experience with Rack Assembly
- 2+ years of hands-on experience assembling complex electromechanical systems
- Previous experience identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve cycle time, and enhance ergonomic safety
- Participation in Kaizen events
- Completed WHMA-A-620 training or a current WHMA-A-620 Certification with demonstrated Class 3 workmanship
- Current J-STD-001 Certification
- Associate's degree
- Job Duties & Functions
- Build and wire assemblies such as power distribution load boxes, control and communication panels, joysticks, and related mechanical assemblies
- Perform mechanical joining of chassis, optical modules, cooling fans, and structural frames
- Install wiring harnesses, connectors, power distribution boards, and SSR modules
- Route and dress cables according to EMC guidelines
- Strip and crimp wires
- Conduct functional and workmanship inspections
- Document results in work orders within the MRP system
- Participate in basic continuous improvement methods, including 6S and Kaizen
- Support opportunities to reduce waste, improve cycle time, and enhance ergonomic safety
- Meet technical milestones and behavioral standards during the contractor evaluation period
