Electrical Assembler

Job Description

Build cable and harness assemblies according to wiring diagrams, form boards, drawings, and schematics while performing soldering, crimping, connector assembly, and backshell torquing to Class 3 IPC standards. Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.

• Education & Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 - 4 years of experience with IPC-WHMA-A-620
• Less than 1 year of experience with Space Standards
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Read and work from diagrams, drawings, and wireharness prints
• Build cable and harness assemblies to wiring diagrams and form boards
• Perform soldering and crimping operations
• Plug contacts into connectors
• Torque backshells
• Work to Class 3 IPC standards

• Preferred Skills
• 2 - 4 years of experience with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD
• Completed WHMA-A-620 training or a current WHMA-A-620 Certification with demonstrated Class 3 workmanship
• J-STD-001 Certification
• Previous IPC/WHMA-A-620E-S space addendum experience
• IPC 620 Defect Recognition
• Continuous Improvement Mindset
• Team Oriented
• 3+ years of Manufacturing Assembly Experience in the defense industry

• Job Duties & Functions
• Build cable and harness assemblies according to wiring diagrams and form boards.
• Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Complete initial layouts from diagrams and drawings.
• Use hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.
• Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
• Perform quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
