Job Description

Develop and support hardware-in-the-loop and closed-loop test facilities for aerospace system integration laboratories while assisting with hardware integration, laboratory infrastructure, and engineering documentation. Perform system verification, coordinate laboratory activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance test capability and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-fidelity test environments that meet technical and program requirements.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
    • Experience contributing to the design, development, integration, and verification of HWIL and closed-loop test facilities
    • Experience designing test beds to support HWIL and closed-loop testing
    • Experience integrating hardware for laboratory test environments
    • Experience planning laboratory infrastructure including power distribution, network cabling, shielding, and cooling
    • Experience managing parts logistics including ordering, receiving, tracking, inventory control, and vendor coordination
    • Proficiency with real-time simulation tools including MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or NI VeriStand
    • Strong understanding of hardware integration, signal conditioning, power distribution, and data acquisition systems
    • Familiarity with aerospace standards including ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and ARP4754
    • Ability to develop schematics and system block diagrams using Microsoft Visio, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, and Siemens NX/3DX
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Assist with the design, development, integration, and testing of HWIL and closed-loop laboratory configurations
    • Receive, stage, and integrate hardware from subsystem teams
    • Coordinate interface control documents along with wiring, power, and data connections across engineering organizations
    • Participate in technical interchange meetings and provide engineering status updates
    • Track laboratory risks and issues while supporting mitigation activities
    • Capture key performance indicators and generate laboratory status reports
    • Support procurement of capital equipment and facility modification projects
    • Manage laboratory parts ordering, receiving, inventory, and vendor coordination
    • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, tools, and work instructions
    • Produce engineering documentation including schematics, block diagrams, procedures, test results, and lessons learned
    • Develop detailed schematics and system block diagrams using industry-standard engineering tools
