Job Description

Perform heavy structural maintenance, inspection, modification, and repair activities on large transport aircraft within a certified MRO/Part 145 Repair Station to ensure airworthiness, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance. Execute structural repairs, component replacements, and modification work using approved engineering data, Boeing and Airbus technical documentation, and established maintenance procedures while supporting scheduled heavy maintenance operations on B757/767/787, EMB 170/190, and A300/319/320/321 aircraft. Maintain quality, safety, and tooling standards by accurately completing structural repair tasks, supporting overtime requirements, and ensuring all assigned work meets company, customer, and FAA requirements.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Level II: 5–9 years of experience performing heavy aircraft structural repairs
    • Level III: 10+ years of experience performing heavy aircraft structural repairs
    • Certified MRO experience performing maintenance on large transport aircraft
    • Heavy aircraft structural repair experience
    • Experience working on Boeing aircraft platforms including B757/767/787, EMB 170/190, and A300/319/320/321
    • Demonstrated proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
    • Knowledge of HazMat risks and proper PPE procedures
    • Ability to measure aircraft damage using machinist tools and accurately record dimensions
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • Completion of a Valid A&P License or Airframe certification preferred
    • Specialized aircraft maintenance training preferred
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Interpret Boeing and Airbus drawings and technical documentation to support structural repair activities
    • Perform EWIS protection activities and remove, replace, or repair aircraft components using approved tooling
    • Complete structural repairs on wing planks, skins, door corners, spars, leading edges, seat tracks, floor beams, and frames
    • Drill, align, and install brackets, hinges, braces, clips, and panels in accordance with engineering specifications
    • Execute corrosion removal and evaluate allowable damage limits on aircraft structures
    • Utilize torque wrenches and calibrated measuring tools for precision installation and verification
    • Follow oral and written instructions to complete routine and non-routine maintenance assignments
    • Maintain tools in serviceable condition while adhering to safe maintenance practices
    • Provide guidance and support to less experienced technicians as required
    • Complete training courses assigned by the training department
    • Carry out additional maintenance tasks as directed by supervision
    • Physical Requirements & Environment
    • Stand for up to 90% of the workday on hard surfaces
    • Lift up to 50 pounds during maintenance operations
    • Move throughout confined and open aircraft structures during repair tasks
    • Work under physically demanding conditions with extended shift durations
    • Comply with safety protocols related to aircraft maintenance environments
