Assembler (Electronics Repair Technician)

Job Description

Perform advanced soldering, circuit card rework, and mechanical assembly operations on complex electronic assemblies. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair assemblies while utilizing specialized soldering and inspection equipment to maintain production quality. Support manufacturing activities by implementing rework procedures and collaborating with engineering teams.

• 4/10-1st Shift (Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly OT40

• Education & Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with soldering and advanced circuit card rework
• Documented IPC 610 experience
• IPC-A-610 or IPC-7711/7721 certification
• Strong understanding of electronics assembly and repair principles
• Demonstrated proficiency using soldering irons, soldering stations, reflow ovens, and soldering machines
• Experience using microscopes and X-ray inspection equipment
• Knowledge of through-hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components
• Demonstrated strong computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production deadlines
• Successfully pass the required medical examination
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI) systems
• Experience with automated X-ray inspection (AXI) systems

• Job Duties & Functions
• Perform advanced rework on circuit card assemblies
• Complete BGA reballing and component replacement
• Repair QFN and other leadless package components
• Replace high-density connectors and complex SMT components
• Assemble through-hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components
• Utilize hand soldering and reflow soldering techniques
• Verify component placement and orientation using a microscope
• Inspect and troubleshoot assemblies to identify defects
• Develop rework procedures for new and existing products
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve manufacturing and design issues
• Install stand-offs, spacers, and other mechanical hardware
• Assemble and align complex mechanical components
• Apply adhesives, epoxies, and bonding agents during assembly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform soldering tasks to securely connect electronic components
