Software Engineer-Developer 4

Job Description

Develop, implement, and maintain mission software supporting satellite space mission systems throughout the complete software development lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design software solutions, improve software processes, and support system integration activities. Perform software development, testing, troubleshooting, and architecture activities while supporting program objectives.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field
• Demonstrate 9+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience
• Possess 5+ years of experience in software development
• Apply proficiency with C++
• Utilize JavaScript in software development activities
• Develop software using Python
• Perform software development in complex software environments
• Support software validation activities
• Demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages including Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript
• Apply experience with Agile, Scrum, or similar software development methodologies
• Collaborate effectively with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Preferred Skills
• 5+ years of experience developing complex software applications and algorithmic solutions
• 5+ years of experience leading software development
• 5+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages including C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, and Visual Basic
• 1+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies

• Job Duties & Functions
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software throughout the end-to-end software lifecycle
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and system integration functionality
• Document software architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
• Participate in Agile software development planning, reviews, and customer meetings
• Debug and resolve software issues to improve reliability and efficiency
• Perform software development activities while participating in code reviews and following software design principles
• Implement current and emerging software technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes
• Establish, monitor, and improve software processes, development tools, and key performance metrics
• Execute software research and development projects
• Advise teams on software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
