Job Description
Develop thin film coating designs and engineering solutions for customer applications while supporting production, process optimization, and technical project execution. Analyze metrology data, evaluate customer requirements, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver coating solutions that meet program objectives. Coordinate project activities from planning through production while supporting continuous process improvements.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 9-15 years of experience or a Master's degree with 7-13 years of experience
- 5+ years of experience with thin film coating designs and materials
- 5+ years of experience with sputtered thin film deposition
- 2 years of experience with roll-to-roll deposition and/or converting
- Working knowledge of one or more thin film design tools including TFCalc, OptiLayer, FilmStar, or FilmWizard
- Experience applying statistical methods and design of experiments
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

- Ability to create and present technical content for customer meetings
- Comfortable taking calculated risks and applying a growth mindset
- Experience planning and leading projects to meet established requirements
- Programming experience using Visual Basic Macro Scripting or similar analysis software
- Experience using Optical Spectrometers, SEM, XRF measurement equipment, and interpreting results
- Job Duties & Functions
- Create new thin film coating designs for customer applications
- Develop technical solutions to complex engineering problems requiring ingenuity and creativity
- Collaborate with Program Management to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules
- Provide work instructions to early career engineers and production technicians
- Support production operations from equipment setup and calibration through manufacturing
- Analyze in-process metrology data to determine required process adjustments
- Compare metrology results against customer specifications to evaluate fitness for use
- Review customer requirement documents to support technical proposal development
- Present design concepts and technical information during customer meetings
- Promote a collaborative team environment across engineering and operations
