Job Description

Perform sheet metal fabrication, structural repairs, and aircraft modifications on general aviation and rotary-wing aircraft while maintaining structural integrity and compliance with aviation safety standards. Support maintenance activities by repairing, fabricating, inspecting, and documenting structural work using manufacturer and DER data. Execute assigned work using standard sheet metal tools and approved repair procedures.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • 5+ years of experience performing sheet metal work on general aviation and rotary-wing aircraft
    • Demonstrate familiarity with thinner gauge sheet metal
    • Apply experience working on smaller aircraft with limited Structural Repair Manual (SRM) detail
    • Possess basic hand tools including dividers, rules, sets, hand squeezes, drills, rivet guns, bucking bars, countersinks, and related sheet metal tools
    • Work effectively in small, confined areas
    • Maintain strong attention to detail
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • Valid A&P License
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Perform structural repairs and installations using manufacturer and DER data
    • Remove and replace leading edges, flap skins, structural panels, and related components
    • Fabricate brackets, mounts, shelves, and other structural parts
    • Complete modifications using AWSTCs, engineering orders, and Structural Repair Manual (SRM) requirements
    • Repair damaged aircraft structures using manufacturer or DER-approved data
    • Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, and wear to determine appropriate repair methods
    • Utilize rivet guns, drills, shears, precision measuring instruments, and other approved tools to produce quality repairs
    • Document maintenance activities in accordance with applicable requirements
