Tests and Instrumentation Technician

Job Description

Perform instrumentation technician duties supporting the assembly, installation, maintenance, calibration, and operation of instrumentation systems used to collect engineering measurement data. Support harness fabrication, sensor installation, electrical integration, and data acquisition equipment while following established technical procedures and standard operating practices. Travel to domestic locations may be required to support off-site program activities.

• Education & Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 4 - 6 years of experience with Instrumentation
• 4 - 6 years of experience with Cable Harness
• 4 - 6 years of experience reading Electrical Schematics
• 4 - 6 years of experience with Soldering
• 4 - 6 years of experience stripping and crimping wires
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

• Job Duties & Functions
• Build and maintain instrumentation systems used to provide engineering measurement data
• Apply technician instructions provided through travelers
• Assist with the preparation, installation, checkout, and operation of instrumentation systems
• Perform planned maintenance and calibration activities
• Read and interpret electrical wiring schematics
• Build cable harnesses and integrate wiring on aircraft
• Complete wire terminations and sensor installation activities
• Prepare instrumentation components for installation
• Follow standard operating procedures for instrumentation and control equipment
• Operate data acquisition systems and other recording equipment
• Maintain measurement accuracy and ensure data validity
• Support offsite program requirements through domestic travel as required
