Job Description
Perform mechanical engineering activities supporting facility infrastructure with an emphasis on HVAC system design, Building Management System (BMS) controls, and system commissioning. Coordinate engineering packages from initial load calculations through programming sequences of operation and final system validation. Support facility modifications while ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, project schedules, and construction standards.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineer role supporting HVAC design
- 5+ years of experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Demonstrated experience delivering comprehensive engineering packages, including calculating cooling and heating loads, programming sequences of operation, and validating final system performance
- Review facility and equipment specifications to support engineering design activities
- Coordinate effectively with architecture and engineering firms during project development
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- 4 - 6 years of experience with Controls
- 4 - 6 years of experience with Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC)
- Job Duties & Functions
- Plan the design, reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities
- Develop engineering packages for HVAC systems, commissioning activities, and BMS controls
- Gather facility and equipment data, including specifications, government restrictions, completion schedules, and construction feasibility
- Coordinate with architecture and engineering firms to establish design criteria and prepare layout and detail drawings
- Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facility acquisition projects
- Estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and related expenses
- Inspect construction and installation progress to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Program sequences of operation for Building Management Systems
- Validate final HVAC and BMS system performance through commissioning activities
- Physical Requirements & Environment
