Job Description

Lead software integration, debugging, automation, and system architecture activities supporting the F-35 and Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works) Mission Systems. Drive software integration strategy, CI/CD implementation, virtual laboratory development, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver mission-ready software solutions.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience equating to at least 14 years of professional software development experience
    • 6+ years of C++ programming experience
    • 4+ years of Python programming experience
    • 6+ years of Linux or Unix experience
    • 3+ years of hardware troubleshooting and integration experience
    • 6+ years of software debugging
    • Lead engineering teams with 3+ years of technical leadership experience
    • Support software integration across mission-critical systems
    • Ability to obtain required special program access after the start of the assignment
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Preferred Skills
    • Experience with software integration, debugging, and system-level testing
    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
    • Proficiency with scripting and automation languages, including Python, Bash, or PowerShell
    • Knowledge of aircraft or mission systems software development lifecycles
    • Experience with simulated environments and hardware-in-the-loop testing
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Lead and mentor a team of software integration engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices
    • Develop, integrate, and debug software supporting aircraft flight software, simulated mission systems, and laboratory environments
    • Direct architectural decisions throughout the software development lifecycle
    • Optimize CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable build processes
    • Architect virtual development laboratories and aircraft software integration processes
    • Design automation tools using open-source, commercial, and internally developed solutions
    • Champion reusable software frameworks and scalable automation infrastructure
    • Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts with mission systems experts, simulation specialists, and stakeholder groups
    • Troubleshoot software integration and hardware interface issues across multiple environments
    • Support system-level testing while ensuring mission-critical performance and safety requirements are achieved
    • Establish software integration standards and development best practices
    • Collaborate with internal customers and partner organizations supporting multiple defense programs
