Job Description

Develops software solutions supporting command and battle staff training systems within a simulation environment. Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and documents software applications while applying established software engineering standards and development processes throughout the software development life cycle. Supports integration of simulation assets, command-and-control systems, and gateway technologies to meet mission objectives.

    • Education & Job Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline with 5-10 years of work-related experience
    • Experience with the software development life cycle as a Software Engineer
    • Proficiency in C++, Python, or Java, GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tools, Windows, and Linux operating systems
    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
    • Preferred Skills
    • Experience with Front-End development
    • 1 - 2 years of experience with Distributed Systems Architecture
    • Experience with Python
    • 2 - 4 years of experience with Simulation
    • Experience in learning and implementing new tools and programming languages
    • Experience integrating new tools and technologies into existing software programs to improve software process efficiency
    • Experience designing and developing GUI-based applications
    • Experience with live, virtual, and constructive simulation environments
    • Job Duties & Functions
    • Plan software development activities for mission and business applications
    • Design software solutions using logical and mathematical approaches to satisfy system requirements
    • Develop, document, test, and debug software applications throughout the software development life cycle
    • Coordinate software engineering activities using established standards, processes, procedures, and development tools
    • Apply knowledge of computer hardware, software, and information processing techniques to develop effective software solutions
    • Correct software defects and implement enhancements to improve system functionality
    • Prepare operating instructions and maintain software development documentation
    • Analyze system capabilities, program intent, output requirements, input acquisition, programming techniques, and controls to resolve technical issues
    • Support command and battle staff training solutions utilizing live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets, command-and-control systems, and DIS/HLA gateways
    • Ensure software products comply with established engineering and quality standards
