Job Description
Develops and supports software applications for command and battle staff training systems within a simulation environment. Designs, tests, debugs, and documents software solutions while applying established software development processes and standards throughout the software development life cycle. Supports development of web-based front-end applications and integration with simulation and command-and-control systems.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline
- Experience with the software development life cycle as a Software Engineer
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Angular
- Experience with GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tools
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Preferred Skills
- Front-end development
- Knowledge of Angular
- 1 - 2 years of experience with Distributed Systems Architecture
- Experience with JavaScript, advanced JavaScript development, and Python
- 2 - 4 years of experience with Simulation
- Learning and implementing new tools and programming languages
- Integrating new tools and technologies into existing software programs
- Designing and developing GUI-based applications
- Experience with live, virtual, and constructive simulation environments
- Job Duties & Functions
- Plan software development activities for mission and business applications
- Design software solutions using logical and mathematical approaches to satisfy system requirements
- Develop web-based front-end applications supporting command and battle staff training systems
- Coordinate software development efforts throughout the software development life cycle
- Document software designs, operating instructions, and development activities
- Test and debug software applications to verify functionality and compliance with requirements
- Analyze system capabilities, program intent, output requirements, input data, and programming techniques to resolve software issues
- Correct software defects and implement enhancements to improve system performance
- Apply software engineering standards, processes, procedures, and development tools throughout project execution
- Support integration of live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets, command-and-control systems, and DIS/HLA gateways
- Ensure software products comply with established quality and development standards
