Wire Design & Install Engineer 3

Job Description

Perform electrical wire installation and design engineering activities supporting commercial aircraft electrical systems. Develop and maintain wire harness, cable routing, and electrical installation designs while collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturable and compliant aircraft configurations. Analyze electrical design requirements, resolve production discrepancies, and support the development of integrated electrical system solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

• Education & Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• 5+ years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
• 5+ years of wire design engineering experience
• Experience with CATIA V5, 3D modeling, wire routing design, and electrical wire design
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Preferred Skills
• Hands-on experience supporting aircraft electrical installation design programs
• Working experience with developing cable and wire harness routing for commercial aircraft
• Experience supporting production engineering activities

• Job Duties & Functions
• Develop and maintain cable and wire harness detail and assembly designs
• Analyze engineering results and perform design reviews
• Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs, including equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, and antennas
• Provide engineering design dispositions for production discrepancies, including rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests
• Document engineering processes, specifications, and procedures supporting the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
• Develop basic statements of work
• Participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities to support source selection activities
• Analyze functional and physical inputs to ensure complete and integrated electrical system designs
• Support electrical design programs
• Perform aircraft wire routing design throughout the airplane
• Work under general direction
