Job Description
Perform structural and payload systems engineering activities supporting the design, integration, certification, and production of commercial aircraft interior and cargo systems. Develop engineering solutions throughout the product lifecycle by coordinating with suppliers, production, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional engineering teams. Validate design requirements and implement improvements that enhance product quality, manufacturability, and certification compliance.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences, and 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, certification, or an equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience
- Experience with engineering design and engineering integration
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent
- Experience with aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, and release processes
- Experience with program or project management, including development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, and risk and issue management
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and critical thinking
- Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development
- Job Duties & Functions
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system designs
- Maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methods
- Provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Perform analytical evaluations and integrate test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities while coordinating with suppliers to optimize designs and achieve program goals
- Develop new design and analysis processes and tools to improve development effectiveness, quality, and efficiency
- Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs
- Provide engineering support and project leadership within a production environment
- Engage directly with aerospace suppliers and airline customers
- Validate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies during certification activities
- Apply design for manufacturing principles to engineering solutions
- Support aircraft cargo compartment and cargo handling system design, integration, and certification activities
- Interface with project engineering, production engineering, program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions
- Support customer configuration development, supplier engagement, production, and certification throughout the product lifecycle
